Between now and mid-December, most of Troy's public calendar happens at one address. The Troy Community Center and John Q. Thompson Pavilion at 201 E. Main Street hosts a free market every Friday evening from October 2 through November 13. It then hosts a daytime Christmas market on December 12.
Two big fall events are held somewhere else. One is a school foundation festival at Trojan Stadium and the other is a Halloween market at a coffee shop on South Church Avenue. Both fall on weekends that already have a Friday market at the pavilion. If you mark one building on your calendar, you'll catch most of what happens in town this season.

The Friday market runs seven weeks in a row with no breaks. The listing shows every Friday from October 2 to November 13, so you won't have to check whether this is "a market week." After that, the pavilion is quiet for four weeks before the Christmas market brings things back inside the community center.
Why the pavilion is the center of the calendar
The Friday market is cheap to show up to on both sides of the table. The listing from Central Texas Tickets says it is free to the public and also free for the businesses that set up, "as a courtesy of the City of Troy." Vendors pay no booth fee and shoppers pay nothing to get in. That makes it easy for a home baker or a small grower to try one Friday. It also explains how the market can run seven straight weeks.
One name appears on both pavilion markets. Laurie Bailey is listed as the organizer of the Evening At Troy-TX Market. The December Christmas market lists Mid TX West Area Team as its organizer, calls itself a project of the City of Troy, and tells businesses or shoppers with questions to call Bailey at 254-421-2485. So the October Fridays and the December Saturday share a contact, city backing and a building.
The market listing describes what's for sale by category rather than by vendor:
- Pastured meats, fresh vegetables, fruits and bok choy
- Pickled vegetables, kimchi, jams and raw honey
- Gourmet barbecue sauces, granolas and salsas
- Sourdough and focaccia
- Drinks
- Custom T-shirts, jewelry, natural beauty products, home goods and crafts
It's a short window. The market runs two hours, from 5 to 7 p.m., and the listing calls it both family-friendly and pet-friendly. If you want the sourdough or the pastured meat, plan to get there early in that window, since small markets often sell out of baked goods first.
The two weekends that go off Main Street
The only two big fall events away from 201 E. Main both land right after a Friday market. In practice, the busiest weekends in Troy this fall start at the pavilion and then move to another spot.
October 16 and 17: pavilion on Friday, stadium on Saturday
The Friday market on October 16 falls the night before the Troy Community Fall Festival, which the Troy Education Enhancement Foundation puts on at Trojan Stadium. Troy ISD's calendar lists the Fall Fest and Carnival for October 17, 2026.
The morning starts with races at 9 a.m. You can pick from a 5K, a 1-mile run/walk, or the Tiny Trojan 100-yard dash for little ones. The dash runs on the stadium turf and ends with kids running through the football spirit inflatable. The 5K is a flat course that finishes at Trojan Stadium. Medals go to the top three male and female finishers overall and in each age group. Race registration lists Troy High School at 205 N. Waco Road as the event location.
The carnival and everything else start at 10 a.m. That includes food and market vendors, carnival games, a literacy lane and a silent auction. Money raised goes to classroom grants and scholarships for Troy High School students and graduates.
Saturday has market vendors too, so a vendor could plausibly sell at the pavilion Friday night and at the stadium Saturday morning. The listings don't say whether any vendors do both. It's still a good weekend to grab what you missed at the pavilion.
October 23 and 25: pavilion on Friday, coffee shop on Sunday
The next off-Main event comes a week later. Mort's Trunk or Treat Market is set for Sunday, October 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Resuscitate Me Coffee, 308 S. Church Ave. The listing promises decorated trunks with candy, a local vendor market with handmade goods, coffee and fall treats, food specials, and a costume contest open to kids, adults and pets.
The organizers want more trunks. Businesses, organizations, churches, clubs, first responders and community groups are all invited to decorate a trunk and hand out candy. CarCruiseFinder's listing puts it simply: more trunks means more candy. If your church group, scout troop or small business wants to take part, details are on the event's Facebook page.
The event fits inside the coffee shop's regular Sunday hours. Resuscitate Me Coffee posts Sunday hours of 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., so the shop is already open an hour before the trunks arrive. Its posted weekday hours run from 5:30 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Saturday hours run from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. On weekdays, that means it's open before the school run and stays open well past the 7 p.m. close of the Friday market.
After November 13, the same address moves indoors
The last Friday market is November 13. The next event on the pavilion calendar is The Original Christmas On Main Market on Saturday, December 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., inside the Troy Community Center at 201 E. Main Street. The listing doesn't print a year. December 12 falls on a Saturday in 2026, and the event's cover image was uploaded in September 2026.
The format is different from the Friday evenings. It runs six hours in daylight instead of two hours at dusk. The goods are more about gifts, with gift baskets and Christmas decor added to the local foods. All ages get in free, and the listing mentions free parking.
Families will want to know about the kids' crafts. Children can make crafts for free while their families shop nearby. The listing says a retired early childhood professional with a recent background check supervises the crafts. With crafts that close by, parents can keep shopping while the kids stay busy within sight.
The listing doesn't mention any Christmas parade or tree lighting this year. December 12 is the only holiday event confirmed so far, and it uses the same building as the fall Fridays.
Filling the hours before 5 p.m. on a Friday
October in Central Texas often stays warm, and there's a new option for the afternoons before the market. The City of Troy announced on September 1 that Trojan Park's splash pad is back after being out for several years. It's open seven days a week from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. while the warm weather lasts. The splash pad and the market both close at 7 p.m. On a warm early-October Friday, your kids could spend the afternoon at the splash pad and you could still make it to the pavilion before vendors pack up.
Getting around town should be a little easier this month as well. The city started repairing the culvert and bridge on E. Austin on September 21. Its update said the contractor had finished the work, and the road was scheduled to stay closed until 10 a.m. on September 27 while the concrete cured. Going by that schedule, E. Austin should be open again in time for the first Friday market on October 2.
Here's the full season in one place:
- Every Friday, Oct 2 to Nov 13: Evening At Troy-TX Market at 201 E. Main, 5–7 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct 17: TEEF Fall Festival at Trojan Stadium, with races at 9 a.m. and the carnival at 10 a.m.
- Sunday, Oct 25: Mort's Trunk or Treat Market at Resuscitate Me Coffee, 10 a.m.–2 p.m.
- Saturday, Dec 12: The Original Christmas On Main Market inside the Troy Community Center, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.
- Any warm day: the Trojan Park splash pad, open 8 a.m.–7 p.m.
